Join us for a weekend campout in the Columbia River Gorge just 30 mins from PDX to learn about goat care, grazing, milking and cheese making.

7 am milking lessons

10 am goat hike
Noon sack lunch at Gorge Vista
2 pm cut and brine cheese to take home
3 pm Kefir bottling

Taylor is a passionate teacher who loves practicing primitive skills, tending land, playing music, and growing nutritious food. From carving spoons to tanning hides to making herbal medicine she loves bringing nature into her life through practical crafts and an outdoor lifestyle. Additionally, She is dedicated to a lovely herd of goats which provide incredibly nutritious food and help with tending land. When there is still time in the day, she enjoys singing and playing celtic and klezmer fiddle. Taylor graduated from the California School of Herbal Studies in 2024 and is passionate about using what grows around us to maintain good health. She has worked at a variety of outdoor schools and family farms, enjoying good people and good food. She is inspired to continue sharing these skills with all ages while having as much fun as possible.

We’re a collection of homesteads 30 mins East of Portland International Airport stewarding a total of 20 acres in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge.

If you’re flying in it’s an easy Lyft or taxi from the Airport.

All profits are distributed to the workshop hosts in an effort to support the craftspeople who generously share these skills with our community.
We strive to pay our instructors and staff fairly for sharing their skills, while at the same time trying to make these events as affordable as possible so these skills can be shared.
We offer flexible pricing based on level of accommodation desired from local commuters, all the way to folks who want a private room. Private room and glamping tents are limited and available on a first come, first serve basis.

This is a drug and alcohol free space supporting personal responsibility, and earth care. All attendees are expected to treat themselves, each other and the land with respect and care.
Please pay attention to what you are doing, as well as be aware of what others are doing.

Meals differ from workshop to workshop- from full catering to provide for yourself.
This is a more relaxed workshop where participants are asked to provide their own breakfasts.
Lunch will be simple sack lunch style with sandwiches and a piece of fruit.
Saturday night will be a group feast with a organic (or GF) pizza night in a wood fired oven.
Guests are encourage to bring their own coolers and non-alcoholiic beverages and snacks.
We strive to serve organic, wholesome food to keep everyone feeling good!
We will have hot water on hand during the day for tea, etc.

There is space for tent camping and vehicle camping, although we do not have hookups. Fresh spring water is available at spigots on the land. We have a portapoddy and an indoor shower. Please come with everything you need to take care of your sleeping accommodations for yourself and your family. Propane stoves and heaters are okay. This is a pack-it-in, pack-it-out event! We do not provide garbage services for participants. Please take your trash with you and practice "Leave No Trace" at your campsite as well. Thank you :)

Due to administrative back and forth capactiy that we don’t have we have a strict cancellation policy. All classes and accommodation payments are due in full upon signing up and no refunds. So make sure you can make it! :)
